2021-2022 Annual Catalogue Walk Through

Today is an exciting day...the new Annual Catalogue is live! This catalogue is one of the best catalogues I've seen and I am loving it. I can't wait to place an order and start creating. In the mean time I want to walk through the catalogue with you. I am going to highlight certain pages, aspects and products through out the catalogue. Feel free to pull out your copy of the catalogue and flip though it as I point out certain pages.

I am going to start off by saying the catalogue is more than just a catalogue it is also an inspiration book. As you flip through the catalogue I encourage you to take note of which example projects catch your eye and to go back and use them as inspiration later on.

The cover caught my eye as soon as I saw it. I am looking forward to getting some of the products featured.

Page three features the table of contents a very helpful tool for any stamper. At a glance you can see all the sections and Suites that are offered in this years catalogue. I love that the Suites are listed under each category so you can easily get a feel for each Suite.

The very next page is also a very important resource. The top portion of the page explains the two types of stamps the Stampin' Up! offers. Along the very bottom of the page it lists some of the icons that you will see in the catalogue. Refer back to this page as you go through the catalogue for clarification when needed.

I am going to skip to page nine. If you are familiar with the setup of past catalogues you would know that typically Stampin' Up! features card kits and product medleys at the beginning of the catalogue. This year they are releasing card kits in a new format, and they will not be available until June. But don't worry in the mean time you can still sign up for a Paper Pumpkin subscription. This is a monthly card kit that is delivered to your door on a monthly basis.

Page ten and eleven feature the very first suite of the catalogue - Beauty of the Earth. The stamps and dies are perfect for all year round. The sentiments are well rounded and can be mixed and matched with many other stamp sets. I am particularly fond of the Bark 3D embossing folder that comes in the suite. I just love the look of wood grain.

I wanted to highlight the Days to Remember stamp set on page eighteen. This is new this year and I felt like it might be an over looked stamp set in the coming year. Yes, it is a calendar stamp but this set can be used as an addition to your planner, not to mention you could make very cute Save The Date cards. The little icons would also me a wonderful addition to any card.

The next item I want highlight in the Pansy Petals suite. I love floral stamp sets, which I am sure you already know if you have seen any of my cards. This is such a fun suite one of them being you can use the dies to cut out the pansies in the DSP. I also love that this suite features the 2021-2023 In Colors.

I am so excited about this bundle on page 34. I have big plans for this one and I can't wait to share them with you guys.

If you like this stamp set and matching die from the mini catalogue I have good news! Stampin' Up! listened to the request and made another matching stamp for the die. I highly recommend getting the additional matching stamp if you already have the die! You can keep baggies of pre-stamped sentiments to make your card making that much quicker.

This brings us to the third suite in the catalogue. I was drawn to the animal print stamps and embossing folder.

If you love to do canning I'd encourage you to take a peek at the You're a Peach suite. As someone who does her share of canning, I know plenty stays in your pantry but some go new homes as thank you gifts and thinking of you. You could decorate your canning jars before gifting them to friends and family.

I can't wait to get my hands on this stamp set. If you love big and bold sentiments that are the focal point of your cards, this is the set for you. With different sentiments in different fonts you have plenty to mix and match.

This suite features some of the most beautiful gold foil DSP I have ever seen. This suite is perfect for wedding and anniversary card but of course can be used for anything. I do love the lace edge stamp in the stamp set.

Shaded Summer a delightful stamp set. This is a great set for a beginner stamper. It features a nice range of sentiments and flowers are always a wonderful addition to any card.

If you love succulents this would be a fun suite of products for you. This suite of products can be mixed and matched with many of the floral stamp sets that are in the catalogue. I loved the fonts that they chose for this stamp set they are nice neutral fonts.

This is the first annual catalogue I have seen feature a suite of Christmas products. I am so glad that they choose to go this route. If you are like me you like to get an early start on your Christmas cards, with access to a pack of DSP you can do just that.

 This is probably my favorite suite in the catalogue. I adore the look of watercolor and I love that you can grab this suite to get the look of watercolor with out the all the fuss. Not to mention the fact that is boasts a great floral image.

I am highlighting this page because you will not be able to order the stamp set on the top of the page. The images were not stamping at Stampin' Up! quality and while they rework the images we will not be able to get it.

The Hand-Penned suite is designed to the lover of flowers. If you follow my blog you would already know that I ordered the bundle as part of the pre-order and am loving it. I adore floral stamps and paper so this suite has spoken to my heart.

Sweet Symmetry has some amazing bright bold patterns that are well suited for numerous occasions. Its so fun and cheery and makes me long for summer time which hopefully will come soon.

If you have never considered getting a background stamp now is a great time to do that. Stampin' Up! offers some amazing patterns and the great thing about these stamps are if you mass produce cards you never have to worry about running out of DSP!

On pages 147 and 148 you can see at a glance all of the bundles that have a matching punch. I really like this feature in the catalogue.

I love embossed paper, so I was thrilled with the new selection of embossing folders. I hope you will also take a peak at the selection.

Like with the punches you can also see at a glance all the die bundles and there are quite a few. I love that you can use the dies to cut out the images you stamp.

Hydrangea Hill Mother's Day Card

I was not immediately drawn to this DSP but I won a pack at a games night hosted by a friend and when I got it into my hands I was quite taken with it. I really wanted to show the gorgeous floral images, I figured at the same time I could show that a masculine stamp set could be featured on a feminine card.

Supplies

1 - 8 1/2"x 11" sheet of cardstock

1 - 5 1/2"x 1" strip of Hydrangea Hill DSP

1 - 3/4"x 4  1/4" strip of Basic White cardstock

Scrap piece of Basic White cardstock

Scrap piece of Hydrangea Hill DSP (for the fussy cut flowers)

Memento Black ink

Whiskey Business stamp set

Instructions

Take the 8 1/2"x11" sheet of cardstock cut it down to 8 1/2"x5 1/2" and score that at 4 1/4" on the long side.

I then took the Whiskey Business stamp set and I stamped the decanter in Memento Black ink. I then fussy cut the image. While I was at it I took my piece of Hydrangea Hill DSP and cut out the floral image.

For the sentiment on this card I chose to print it off. I have a tutorial which you can find here, which tells you exactly how I go about doing this. But you can use any stamp you want.

I then adhered the 1" strip of DSP to the left side of the card front. I then adhered the decanter to the card front layering it so about only half of it was on the DSP. I then adhered the floral image to the top of the decanter. I then layered the sentiment strip placing it at about the half way mark on the rectangular part of the decanter.

Step It Up

To take this card to the next level you could always use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the florals. It would also be super cute to add a bow to the neck of the decanter.

Using either a Stampin' Blend or Stampin' Write Marker you could also draw green lines in the decanter to give the illusion of stems.

The Hydrangea Hill DSP is gorgeous paper. This DSP has such nice, subtle designs that are very easy to use. You can snag a pack of this paper here.

Suite Sampler Mother's Day Card

 Yesterday I shared a post on the technique for this card. I wanted to share the full tutorial with you today because I love this card so much! I think I'll be adding this layout to my repertoire, you can stamp almost any image and use almost any sentiment.

Supplies

1 - 8 1/2"x 11" sheet of Cardstock

1 - 5 1/4"x 4" piece of DSP

1 - 5 1/4" x 2 1/4" piece of Cardstock

1 - 5 1/4"x 2" piece of Basic White cardstock

Scrap Basic White cardstock

Fresh Freesia Stampin' Write Marker

Soft Succulent Stampin' Write Marker

Memento Black ink

Suite Sampler stamp set

Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set

Instructions

Take the 8 1/2"x11" sheet of cardstock cut it down to 8 1/2"x5 1/2" and scored that at 4 1/4" on the long side. I adhered the piece of DSP to the front of the card right away.

I took the 2" piece of Basic White and colored the image in Fresh Freesia and Soft Succulent. I then stamped it on the piece of cardstock. For in depth instructions on this technique check out this blog post. I then layer the stamped piece on to the 2 1/4" piece of colored cardstock.

I then stamped the sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set on a 1/2" scrap of Basic White. I then took my paper snips and cut the end at an angle.

I then adhered the stamped image piece to the left side of the card. I then used Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment to the front of the card.

Step it Up

You can wrap ribbon around the base of the stamped image piece, a bow can always elevate your card.

You could use one of the pick a punches to punch the edge of the sentiment piece instead of just cutting it at an angle.

And don't forget to add rhinestones or pearls!

For this card I used the Suite Sampler stamp set. It is the host stamp set in the January-June Mini Catalogue. It's a beautiful set of images that features images from some of the suites in the Mini Catalogue. This stamp set is only available if you Host a party or place an order that is over $200.

Coloring Stamps

 Did you know you can color on your stamps?

This is a fantastic technique especially when you have an image that has multiple parts to it but is all on one stamp. I used a floral image from the Suite Sampler stamp set. I think this is a beautiful image but I didn't want the stem and leaves to be same color as the flower. So I dug out my Stampin' Write markers and for this card I used the Fresh Freesia and Soft Succulent markers. And I colored my stamp! I used the Fresh Freesia for the petals and the Soft Succulent for the stem and leaves.

When you have finished coloring your stamp you need to huff on the stamp just to make sure that the ink is still wet and then you stamp it down on your paper.

I highly recommend using a  stamp positioning tool like the Stamparatus for this technique so if the image doesn't come out clear or if parts of the image are missing you can re-stamp the image.

This technique is great for sentiment stamps with multiple lines of text. You can color each line a different color to add some extra color to your cards.

A Touch of Ink Mother's Day Card

If you have followed my card tutorials here on my blog you will know how much I love the A Touch Of Ink Stamp set. I pulled it out and made a Mother's Day card. It's by far one of my favorite cards and its such a beautiful layout. You just need to change up the sentiment.

Supplies

1 - 8 1/2"x 11" sheet of Crumb Cake cardstock

1 - 5 1/4"x 4" piece of Paper Blooms DSP

Scrap pieces of Basic White cardstock

Scrap pieces of Crumb Cake cardstock

A Touch of Ink stamp set

Itty Bitty Greeting stamp set

Memento Black ink

Rococo Rose ink

Crumb Cake Blends

Versamark ink

White Embossing Powder

Heat Embossing Gun

Instructions

Take the 8 1/2"x11" sheet of Crumb Cake cardstock and cut it down to 4 1/4"x11" and score it at 5 1/2" along the long side. I went ahead and adhered the DSP to the front of the card right away.

I stamped the floral outline in Memento Black on Basic White cardstock twice. I then used the corresponding stamp and colored it in Rococo Rose ink. I stamped the outline of the hummingbird in Memento Black and then I used the Crumb Cake blends to color it in. I started with the light blend and just colored the whole image, with the dark blend I colored along all the lines. This gave the hummingbird depth. I then cut out all the images with my paper snips.

I took my scrap piece of Crumb Cake and I heat embossed the sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings onto it. I cut the sentiment down to the size I wanted.

I then adhered the floral images together interlocking the stems together behind the floral part. I then adhered them to the front of the card keeping on the DSP but in the lower right hand side. I then adhered the Hummingbird over top of the florals. I used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhered the sentiment to the front of the card.

Both the stamp set and the DSP were from the January-February Sale-a-bration and are now retired products but I enjoy digging into my stash of craft supplies to use some of those products. I encourage you to do the same!

Fine Art Floral Mother's Day Card

Mother's Day is less than a month away and it's important to celebrate the special women in our lives. I've been a powerhouse lately designing many Mother's Day cards for the special women in my life. I haven't yet decided which one will go to who but I am so excited to share them with you.

I used the Hand-Penned Petals Bundle and the 2021-2023 In Colors to create this card. These supplies will be available for order on May 4th. Make sure you add these products to your wish list!

Supplies

1 - 8 1/2"x 11" sheet of Pale Papaya cardstock

1 - 5"x 3 3/4" piece of Fine Art Floral DSP

1 - 5"x 3/4" piece of Polished Pink cardstock

1 - 1/2" strip of Basic White cardstock

Scrap of Basic White Cardstock

Polished Pink ink

Pale Papaya ink

Soft Succulent ink

Memento Black Ink

Instructions

Take the 8 1/2"x11" sheet of Pale Papaya cardstock and cut it down to 4 1/4"x11" and score it at 5 1/2" along the long side.

I took the scrap piece of Basic White cardstock and in Memento Black I stamped the outline of the floral image. I then used the corresponding stamps and 'colored' it in. I used Polished Pink ink for the larger flowers, stamping the largest one at full strength and the other two, I stamped off on scrap paper first. I then used Pale Papaya for the smallest flowers, and Soft Succulent for the leaves.

I then took the strip of Polished Pink cardstock and with the scallop border die in the Hand-Penned Petal dies I ran it through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine. I also used the outline die for the floral image to cut it out.

I adhered the scallop border the left side of the piece of Fine Art Floral DSP. I then adhered it to the front of the card.

I then took the 'Mother's Day' sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set and stamped it in Memento Black on the 1/2" strip of Basic White cardstock. I cut it to the length that I wanted and I used the Tailored Tag punch to cut the banner edge. You can use the Banner Pick A Punch or you can cut it by hand.

I used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhered the floral image to the front of the card. I then adhered the sentiment to the front of the card sliding the left edge of the sentiment underneath the floral image.

Step It Up

A great way to elevate your card would be to heat emboss the sentiment or add some bling with matching rhinestones or pearls colored with blends.

I am obsessed with the Fine Art Floral DSP. It is probably my favorite DSP from the mini catalogue. I love how this paper seems to go with everything.

2021-2023 In Colors

Today I am so excited to introduce to you the new 2021-2023 In Colors! These are probably my new all time favorite colors. As someone who loves flowers, these colors are a perfect match for any floral stamp set you may have. I've already featured a few of these colors on a card using a bundle from the upcoming Annual catalogue. You can find that card here. You can expect to see these colors a lot in the next little while.

I have really loved playing with these colors, they are so bright and beautiful. They coordinate and compliment each other so well. I am looking forward to seeing how everyone uses these colors.

You will be able to buy the ink pads, reinkers, markers, blends and cardstock starting on May 4th. These colors will be current for the next two years and I am ecstatic about it.
