Sometimes when you are in a crafting rut changing up the size of your card can help you get your mojo back. I wasn't in a creative rut but I did have a customer ask for some note card sized thank you cards and it certainly helped me to feel inspired for my future projects.
Supplies
1 - 8 1/2"x11" sheet of Basic White cardstock
1 - 4 3/4"x3 1/4" piece of Fine Art Floral DSP
Scrap piece of Basic White Cardstock
Thankful Thoughts Stamp Set
Rococo Rose Ink
Layering Circle Dies
Gold Trim
Instructions
Take the 8.5"x11" sheet of cardstock and cut it down to 5"x7". Score it at 3.5" on the long side. I then adhered the piece of DSP to the front of the card. I took the scrap piece of cardstock and in Rococo Rose stamped my sentiment in the center of the paper. I then used the fifth largest circle from the set of layering circle dies and ran it through my die cutting machine. Using a glue dot to hold the ribbon in place I arranged it in a figure eight pattern on the back of the circle. I then placed Stampin' Dimensionals on the back of the circle and adhered it to the center of the card front.
If you make this note card you may not n envelope for it, you can check out my blog post on how to make custom envelopes.
Step It Up
To take this card to the next level you could always add a scalloped circle in a coordinating cardstock color. Or even add some coordinating enamel dots.
While I chose to make my own card bases Stampin' Up! makes it really easy for you. You can get packs of 20 note cards with envelopes for $9.50. You can get them in Basic White or Very Vanilla.
I also want to highlight the gorgeous Fine Art Floral DSP from the January - June Mini Catalogue. This is an amazing suite but my favorite part is the DSP. It features beautiful bold hand painted floral images. If you haven't figured it out yet I love everything floral. But the back side of the paper is just as bold and beautiful. I have had so much fun playing with this paper and can't wait to show off my creations to you.
