Forever Fern Anniversary Card

My wonderful parents are celebrating 25 years of marriage today and to mark this special anniversary I felt it was only fitting to make a very special card for them. I can honestly say it was really very special being able to make this card and think of them as I made it. I look forward to the day when my husband and I can celebrate a quarter century together!

Supplies

1 - 8 1/2"x11" sheet of kraft cardstock

1 - 5 1/4"x4" piece of kraft cardstock

1 - 5 1/4"x4" piece of Balmy Blue DSP

1 - 5 1/4"x4" piece of clear acetate

1 - 1 1/4"x3 1/2" piece of Basic White Cardstock

Some Vellum Cardstock

Forever Fern Stamp Set

Butterfly Beauty Dies

Shaker Card Elements

Memento Black Ink Pad

Foam Tape

Instructions

Take the 8 1/2"x11" sheet of cardstock cut it down to 8 1/2"x5 1/2" and score that at 4 1/4" on the long side. I then adhered the DSP to the front of the card.

I then took the 5 1/4"x4" piece of kraft cardstock and using my paper trimmer cut a 4 1/4"x3" rectangle out of the center of the cardstock. It was actually quite difficult to do so I would recommend using a rectangle die approximately the same size. It will save you the headache. I then adhered the acetate piece to the back of the frame. Using the foam dimensional tape I lined the outside edges of the frame. Make sure there are no gaps in between to pieces of foam tape otherwise your small shaker pieces will fall out. This is also a great way to use up the exterior pieces around your stampin dimensionals. You can cut them to the right lengths to fit.

I used some white vellum and the Butterfly Beauty dies to die cut the butterflies they come out in one piece and I cut them apart using the smaller butterflies. I then took my sequins and shook them in the space I had made on the back of the frame. I laid the butterflies in and then peeled the backing off the foam tape.

Then I took and centered my card base over top of the shaker piece and adhered it the the front. I then stamped my sentiment from the Forever Fern stamp set on the piece of white cardstock and adhered it to the bottom right corner of the shaker piece.

If you would like to purchase the stamp set I used you can go here.

If you love the adorable butterflies and want to look into the set of dies you can head over here.

I hope this inspires you to make your own shaker cards. Keep following my blog for future shaker card ideas.

Happy Paper Crafting!
