I've been on the theme of love for so many weeks I had a hard time coming up with a different theme. I glanced at my calendar to see if I had any specific events I needed a card for. In exactly one week my parents celebrate 25 years of marriage, and it made me think of my wedding which in turn inspired me to make a wedding card (don't worry the anniversary card comes next week). I wanted to go for something bold but simple and I felt like I was able to accomplish that with this card.
Supplies
1 - 8 1/2"x11" sheet of cardstock
1 - 5 1/4"x4" piece of Rococo Rose Oh So Ombre DSP
1 - 3 1/4"x1 7/8" piece of white cardstock
Scrap of Pink cardstock
Scrap of White Cardstock
For The New Two Stamp Set
Forever Fern Stamp Set
Forever Flourishing Dies
Memento Black Ink Pad
Rococo Rose Ink Pad
Instructions
Take the 8 1/2"x11" sheet of cardstock and cut it down to 4 1/4"x11" and score it at 5 1/2" along the long side. I took the Forever Fern Stamp set and stamped the leaves in Rococo Rose and then using the coordinating Forever Flourishing Dies ran them through my die cut machine (you can also fussy cut them). I also used the tiny little sprig dies and a scrap piece of pink die cut a bunch of them because I wasn't sure haw many I wanted.
I then took the white piece of cardstock that I cut for my sentiment and stamped the saying from the For The New Two stamp set (this is a retired stamp set). I adhered the Oh So Ombre DSP to the front of the card and then laid my leaves and sentiment on top when I was happy I put adhesive on the back of everything and adhered it to the front of the card.
Step It Up
While I chose to make this card with a wedding sentiment its a great layout for any large sentiment that you want focused on. You could make this into a birthday card for a special guy and trade out the leaves for gears, or a baby by substituting in a rattle or sleeper.
I loved how fun and bright the colors in the DSP were. This 6x6 paper pack is only available until the end of the month through sale-a-bration. Purchase $60 worth of product from the annual or mini catalogue to qualify. If you live in Canada and would like copies of the catalogues please let me know and I will send them to you.
Happy Paper Crafting!
