Valentine's Day is this weekend and I wanted to give you guys one more Valentine's Day themed card tutorial and today I am featuring two bonus cards. These cards are perfect, no matter who you are giving them to. Whether that be a husband, a wife or a friend.
Supplies
1 - 8 1/2"x11" sheet of cardstock
2 - 5 1/4"x4" pieces of pattern paper
1 - 5 1/4"x4" piece of red cardstock
1 - 3 1/4"x4" piece of white cardstock
1 - 2 3/4"x1/2" piece of white cardstock
Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set
Adhesive
Memento Black Ink Pad
Heart Dies
Instructions
Take the 8 1/2"x11" sheet of cardstock cut it down to 8 1/2"x5 1/2" and score that at 4 1/4" on the long side. I didn't have heart dies so I used my Cricut machine to cut a 2" and a 1 1/2" heart out of the red piece of cardstock, as well as a 2" and 3/4" heart out of one piece of pattern paper (these pieces will be used on the bonus cards so don't throw them away).
I then adhered the two 2" hearts to the 3 1/4"x4" piece of white cardstock. I then stamped my sentiment on the 2 3/4"x1/2" strip of white. I stamped it about 1/2" away from the left edge. I then adhered it over the hearts line up the right edge with the right edge of the white layer of cardstock. I then adhered the last two hearts to the layer.
I then adhered the second piece of pattern paper to the front of the card and then centered and adhered the layer of white cardstock to the front of the card.
Bonus Cards
I don't like waste so I used the leftovers to make these two cards.
I used the pieces of cardstock and pattern paper that I cut the hearts out of as layers. I grabbed extra layering pieces and adhered them together. I cut a piece of white cardstock 3 1/4"x1 3/4". I then used the retired Timeless Love stamp set and memento black ink for the sentiment. Then I adhered everything to the front of the card.
They made for very simple but fun cards to make. If you don't have a Cricut machine you can use thinlits. If you have thinlits it would give you more freedom in the placement for the hearts on your bonus cards.
Happy Paper Crafting!
